Thank you for reading the Erika’s Lighthouse blog. We truly appreciate your comment. Due to the high volume of responses we receive, not every comment will be published. Thank you for your support to Get Depression Out of the Dark.
Brandon – I’m watching the video of your presentation. My school is doing some great work in this area and has just committed to putting mental health and resilience education into the strategic plan. Could you share any ideas you have for setting measurable targets? We need to “sell” this to some of our skeptics. THANKS!
Thank you Jennifer! I will reach out via email – but a first area is to really review the components of programming offered. Several models exist to ensure robust services. The Model School Policy on Suicide Prevention, the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child Model and an interesting framework on culture change from Dr. Bridwell-Mitchell from Harvard. Just taking an assessment of programs is a great first start. If you are implementing Erika’s Lighthouse programs, next year we will launch program survey/evaluations to gain perspective from teens, educators and school mental health staff – not only on the program’s impact, but the school’s work towards being more inclusive and accessible. I hope we can offer support to you in these efforts! -Brandon
