Erika’s Lighthouse: A Beacon of Hope for Adolescent Depression is a not-for-profit dedicated to educating and raising awareness about adolescent depression, encouraging good mental health and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health issues.
The Marketing & Development Manager works to promote the mission and programs of Erika’s Lighthouse, as well as to build and maintain relationships with donors. We’re looking for a creative, thoughtful self-starter who is willing to think outside the box and work collaboratively within a small team in Winnetka.
The Marketing & Development Manager’s primary responsibilities include to:
Develop strategies to build awareness of the organization and drive qualified traffic to our website, engaging in school based programs and resources
Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from ideation to execution
Oversee a variety of marketing channels – branding, marketing communications, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, and suggest others that might benefit the organization
Work with social media and events coordinator to create valuable and engaging content for our website, email marketing, and blog that attracts and converts the target audience
Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies and vendors
Manage marketing budget and allocate funds wisely
Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals
Maintain existing grant relationships and modify annual proposals and supporting documents in response to solicitations
Build relationships with funders and maintain an opportunities calendar
Oversee annual gala to achieve fundraising goals – manage budget, gala committee, volunteers and all communications around the event
Oversee the Team Erika’s Lighthouse Chicago Marathon program to achieve fundraising goals – manage budget, volunteers and all communications around the event
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
5-7 years experience in marketing or marketing communications
Intimate understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channels
Excellent communication and writing skills
Ability to think creatively and innovatively
Budget-management skills and proficiency
Professional judgment that comes from years of experience in the field
Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges
Familiarity with the latest trends, technologies and methodologies in graphic design, web design, production, etc.
BA/BS degree in marketing, communications or related field
